Love One Another

John 13:34-35 " A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

How do we love one another? The Bible tells us to lay our lives down for each other, esteem others better than ourselves, and pray for one another. Those are a few ways we can love one another.

In John 13, Jesus washed the disciples feet, which was the job of a servant. He even washed the feet of His betrayer; Judas Iscariot. He did this as an example to us.
Let's pray and ask God how we can love each other with the love of Christ.

Continuing in the Lord

Acts 11:23 When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord.

Have we not all seen God's grace? Let us be glad! We can encourage and edify one another in the Lord. We have a choice whether we continue in Him or not. There is a danger for every believer... the danger of falling away. We can purpose in our heart, as believers, to continue in the Lord. Jesus is our strength! Cling to him and walk forward in what He has for you!

God, help us!

Hosea 12:6 So You, by the help of your God, return; Observe mercy and justice, and wait on your God continually.

The Israelites were being told to return to the Lord where He had met them. How many times do we take time to think about where the Lord met us? This is a very encouraging event to reflect on.

Observe mercy and justice. These two character traits of God are constantly at work in our lives. Do we observe them in our lives? Do we have them in our own character traits?

Wait on God continually. The Word of God talks much about waiting on Him. This requires trust and patience. He will work these thing out in our lives, if we wait on Him. He cares for us and loves us, yet we don't trust Him enough to wait on Him. Let's ask God to grow us in this area!

Remember, the verse says, "by the help of your God." We're not in this alone and can't do anything without His help!!

Dear Lord, I pray that You would grow and stretch us. Please teach us to wait on You and through that increase our faith. Help us observe mercy and justice. May we remember often where You met us Lord! In Jesus Name Amen.

The Lord is my shepherd

The Lord   (Jehovah= "The existing One")
is my shepherd  (to tend, to keep, to rule, to teach)
I shall not want (to without a need)

Do we allow the Lord that place of Supreme authority in our hearts and lives?
Do we allow Him to Shepherd, tend to us, keep us, and teach us?
Do we allow Him to meet our every single need?
Can we honestly say "Lord Jesus, it is well, it is well, with my soul?

The Lord Jesus desires to be our all and all.
He desires to be our number one on a list of one.
Will we choose this day to willingly surrender our very hearts, minds emotions, our everything to Him?

Fallow Ground

Hosea 10:12 Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.

We need a changed heart from the Lord. Are we sowing righteousness, reaping mercy and seeking Him? Our hearts get hard fast because of sin. Break up the fallow ground in your heart today and allow God to minister to you!

We all need to be refreshed and to have a heart of repentance today. When we fall, let's get back up and walk forward in His love.

Love=Obedience=Love

John 14:15 Jesus says "If you love Me, Keep my commandments."

The way we get to show Jesus Christ we love Him is by keeping His commandments.
His commandments are not hard to keep, if we simply choose to obey them.
He will never command you to do anything that violates His word.
Jesus' past faithfulness demands our present trust, so, it is our choice to obey or not to obey Jesus.
We all will do exactly what we want to do every single time, good or bad.

Choose obedience!!!

Living Sacrifice

Romans 12:1 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Paul beseeches us: or strongly exhorts us to present ourselves to the Lord as a sacrifice.
Give your whole self to the Lord Jesus and follow after Him with your whole heart. Love Him with all of heart, soul and mind.

As we start the new year think about the places in our hearts where we have not given our all to the Lord Jesus. We can't live compartmentalized lives. There is no grey area. It is either all for the Lord Jesus or for self.
