Psalm 56

Read Psalm 56.

The Psalmist declares in verse 3 that he is afraid. There are 3 times he says “I will” What are they?

 A lot of times it is a heart attitude that we need to have when we come up against fear. This is hard because our emotions get in the way and want to direct all that is going on so we can be as comfortable as possible. These 3 words are so important for us as believers to put into practice as we walk with God.

Look at verse 8. God sees all that you go through. He even collects your tears in a bottle. This is so amazing!! Write your thoughts on this verse.

Read verse 13. What does God do? Look at the verbs in the verse.

Read the verse below and write down what God show you.

What is the definition of supplication?                     

Take time before the Lord and pray for the day. Write down your prayer.

Read Verses 4-6. Do you ever want to run away from your situation?    David sure did. He had people coming at him on all sides of his life. A King who hated him and chased him all over the Israel .  A companion who turned against him.  Write down a situation you are running from or have run from in the past. Instead of running away from God, run to Him with the situation.

What did David do in verse 16?

What are David’s expectations of God? Verse 16b                        

Read verse 17. What did David know about God?

God hears your prayers. Read the faithfulness of God below in these verses.

Proverbs 15:29

Micah 7:7 Micah says 2 “I wills” in this verse. What will he do?   Then what will God do?

Please pay close attention to the action Micah takes. He looks heavenward and waits for God. Spend time meditating on the verses below. Write your thoughts.

Look at verse 22. You are given a command. What is that?      And what will God do? 2 things.

At the end of the Psalm what does the Psalmist declare? Take time to tell the Lord the same thing.

The Name of the Lord is so powerful. In verse 1 the Psalmist asks God to do what?

Proverbs 18:10 What is the name of the Lord?

Isaiah 26:7-9 Write what God speaks to your heart.

Malachi 1:11 What a wonderful verse for us!! Write what God shows you.

Look at verse 2. Take time to open your heart to the Lord and bring your requests before Him. Write them down.

Get your favorite song out and worship the Lord. Draw near Jesus and He will draw near to you.

Take time to pray for those that you know who have not received Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Pray for the leaders of our country

Pray for our country and the direction of people’s hearts going their own way.

There are a lot of scriptures on being a fool. Read the verses below and write what Jesus puts on your heart from them.

Look at verse 8b. What is the psalmist placing his trust in?

Study the word mercy. What is the definition?

Read the verses below and see the promises God has for you through His mercy.

Exodus 20:6 Who does God show mercy to?

2 Samuel 22:26 What is the promise here for you?

2 Chronicles 30:9 What is the command in this verse for the promise of mercy?

Matthew 5:7 What is the promise in this verse?

What relationship this week will you apply mercy? What ways can you show mercy? Sometimes we know our tendencies in relationships so think of how you may respond and do it differently this week. Write down your thoughts.

Take time to write a praise to God. Sit at His feet and give Him the attention He deserves.

Sometimes the trials of this life take a toll on you. The promise given to you in verse 15 is so important. The deliverance for you as a believer. Read the verses below and Write down what God  shows you.

Are there things going on in your life where you need to cry out to the Lord? They don’t have to be big things. It can be the little things too. Cry out to the Lord. After reading the verses above, allow the Lord to minister to your heart and watch Him deliver you. Write down those things that you need a touch from the Lord.
