A Giving Heart

2 Corinthians 9:7-8 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

Whether we're giving of time, talent, or treasure... Let it be a giving from our heart! Why do we do what we do? Is it done willing with a cheerful heart? Just something to think about as we serve The Lord day by day!

1 Corinthians 13

1 Corinthians 13:13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Loving others might be one of the hardest things for us as Christians. It means laying down our own life and desires to care for someone else. We need the love of God to do this work through us. Our flesh looks out for self. The word of God tells us the opposite. Pray for your enemies, lay down your life, esteem others better than yourself.... I could go on, but you see what I'm getting at. Let's purpose in our hearts today to love more than we did yesterday. Day by day we can change our attitude toward others. Pray for yourself and for other believers to love as The Lord has called us to love!

What Type of Christian Are You?

1.) CARNAL: 1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world- the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life- is not of the Father but is of the world.
Romans 8:8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

2.) MIXTURE: Mark 7:6 He answered and said to them, '' Well did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites, as it is written : 'This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of man.''
Galatians 3:3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?

3.) LEAD by the Spirit of God: Galatians 5:16-25 I say then:
Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
But if you are lead by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Only you can answer this question!!!

Jesus

Isaiah 23:5-6 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

This week be reminded of all Christ in obedience to His Father did, He was beaten, spit on, mocked, had a crown of thorns forced on His head, He died on the cross and had our sin laid upon Him. In His dying and rising He full filled scripture and set us free from sin and death. He made a way so that we could be with Him one day face to face for eternity. Thanks Him for it all.
