Sheep returning to our Shepherd

1 Peter 2:25 "for you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of our souls.

We have all gone astray from God at some point in our lives. Some people run from God for years while others might only stray for a few days. Either way God is waiting for us to return!
He desires for all His sheep to have closeness with Him. He is the overseer of our souls! That is profound. Jesus is at the right hand of the Father praying for us. We can draw nearer to Him today than yesterday and know Him more intimately. Take time today to return to your good Shepherd. Rejoice in your salvation and delight yourself in the true and living God!

The Savior is Born!!!!

"Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14

It's Christmas time again. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ entered into this world as a baby. God took on flesh and humbly came here to save us. There are so many things that we participate in during the Christmas season. Let's not forget Jesus in the midst of all the activities. Instead, we can make Him the center of our activities and rejoice in His birth!! Use Christmas as an opportunity to share with others about Jesus.

Merry Christmas and God bless!!!

God is at work in our lives

Hebrews 12:14-15 Pursue peace with all people and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord! Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this may become defiled;

Hebrews 12:27-29 Now this, "yet once more, indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken remain.
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire.

What is God trying to shake and remove from our lives? We can allow the Lord to root out those things that are not pleasing to Him and be at peace with Him and others. We need His holiness to be able to see Him! After the Lord has shaken us, the things pleasing Him remain.

Seeking peace and holiness with all people will keep us from bitterness. As we work out our salvation with fear and trembling, let us love one another with the love of God. We have been called to edify each other and build each other up. Ladies, let's pray for one another, lift up the weak person's feeble hands, and encourage those around us.

Have You Left Your First Love?

Revelation 2:4-5: "Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly, and remove your lamp stand from its place-unless you repent.

The Lord is calling us to repentance. Our first love should be the Lord our God. He is waiting for us to draw closer to him today than yesterday. Take some time to remember where you have fallen from.

What has the Lord Jesus delivered you from?

We have salvation that we don't deserve because of the blood of Jesus. Let's purpose in our hearts today to follow God wholeheartedly, and live out His word.

Your Mind

Colossians 3:1-2  If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set Your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

Sing and Rejoice

Zechariah 2:10 "Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst," says the Lord.

Yay! The Lord is coming. All the troubles, trials, and tears will be gone. He loves us and our confidence must be in Him. We live in a world full of sin and corruption. We have an enemy that longs to take us down to the pit of hell, but we don't have to be overtaken by satan or the world.
Our God is mighty to save us from evil!!! Our job is to surrender, submit, and obey. That's our calling until He comes for us. Let's run the race well. We can encourage and strengthen one another daily! May our unity be in Jesus Christ.

Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.

Refreshed

Do you need to be refreshed?

Acts 3:19 Repent therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.

If you don't have Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we invite you to receive Jesus into your heart. There are three steps you can take to receive Jesus.

1. Recognize that you are a sinner

2. Repent from your sin. Repent means to turn away from your sin and turn to God

3. Receive Jesus into your heart. You can ask Him by saying a prayer. All prayer is, is talking to God like you would talk with a really good friend. Ask Him to live in your heart and He will come.

If you are already a believer and need to be refreshed Spend Time With The Lord!!!!

Peace

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." John 16:33

The Lord promises us peace that the world can't give us. We have victory in Him. If we keep our eyes on heaven and not on things here on earth, we can rest in His peace. We are called to be in the world but not of the world. That can be hard if our eyes are not fixed on Him. He has overcome the world and will strengthen us in times of trouble!

Well Done Good and Faithful Servant

"As The Lord commanded Moses His servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did. He left nothing undone of all that The Lord commanded Moses." Joshua 11:15

Have we done everything that The Lord has commanded us? Are we doing everything
He has for us presently? What does our future hold? Will we complete what The Lord has for us?

"He held fast to The Lord; he did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which The Lord had commanded Moses." 2 Kings 18:6

Wow! What a testimony for the believer. After a trial, suffering, or persecution, to be able to say that we held fast to The Lord, continued walking with Him, and kept His commandment through it!

"His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy or your lord.' Matthew 25:21

I want to hear these words from our Lord. I want to be faithful in the little things first, then see what He has for me next. We will enter into His joy, if we are faithful to what He has called us. What a promise! Rest in His love today and always, because His love endures forever!

Obedience or Sacrifice

"For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart- These, O God, You will not despise." Psalm 52:16-17

The Lord wants our brokenness ladies. He desires for us to be obedient over sacrifice. We have His word for direction and encouragement. We should be broken over our sin and walk in repentance.  Maybe we need to cry out to God for that brokenness. He can soften our hearts and bring brokenness in the areas where our hearts are hard because of sin. He loves us and desires for us to walk upright with Him!

King of Glory

"Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints! Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are Holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your  judgments have been manifested."

This is a song from the book of Revelation Chapter 15. This song describes the character of our King! What wonderful words to remember and have hidden in our hearts. When reading this, we are reminded of God's might, sovereignty, glory, and judgment. He is an all powerful God.
We can worship Him with our daily lives and sing songs that glorify Him in our heart of hearts!
Lets give Him praise with our lives today and forevermore!

Be Thankful for One Another

"But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by The Lord, because God from the beginning chose you to salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth." 2 Thessalonians 3:13

The Lord chose us! He saved us and brought us together as sisters in Christ. Are we truly thankful for one another? We affect each others lives very much. We should walk as Jonathan did with David. Jonathan was faithful to David to the end. When David was in the wilderness, Jonathan came and strengthened David's hand in The Lord! We can be that for each other. Be thankful for each sister that The Lord has allowed into your life and bless them. Let's rejoice in the salvation of our Lord together!

Obedience

We just finished studying Saul's life last night at Women's study.

Saul started out well and then lost everything including his life because of not obeying the Lord. He had a lot of "potential" to be a great king. He followed his own ways and what he thought the Lord wanted, instead of what God had actually said to him. He was given command after command and only did partially what the Lord asked him to do. Partial obedience is not obedience. His life was marked as disobedient. What is your life marked as? obedient or disobedient?

As you walk with the Lord listen closely to what He is telling you in His Word. Follow Him with all of your heart and do what He is asking completely. Have a life marked by obedience!!!

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

For more study on Saul's life read 1 Samuel.

Surrender

Surrender: To yield; to give up; to resign in favor of another; as,to surrender a right or privilege; to surrender a place or an office.to obey

Jesus at the Garden of Gethsemane
Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Jesus going to the Cross
Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth: He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He opened not his mouth.

Jesus on Cross
Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Not Your Own
1 Corinthians 6:19-20   What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

We do not belong to ourselves,we were bought with the precious blood of Christ, He willing laid down His life for us, will we do the same?

Will we today willing surrender our everything:our very lives,our rights,our,time,our needs,our wants,our husbands,our children,our jobs,our personal comforts; to our loving,merciful,compassionate,forgiving,all knowing Jesus?

Will we allow our will to be broken that all that is seen in our lives would be a surrendered life to Jesus, no matter where He leads,no matter what He allows into our lives?

Jesus loves us, has our very best interest at heart, lives forever to make intercession for us, He allows us the breath of life.

Today will we fall into the arms of love?

The Peace of God

"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world" John 16:33

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything in prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses ALL understanding, will guard your hearts and minds Through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

The Bible tells us that Jesus is our peace. In Isaiah 9:6 refers to Him as the Prince of Peace. Life can be chaotic and stressful. We need the peace of God to walk a victorious Christian life.
Psalm 34:14 says, "Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it." Be encouraged to crucify the flesh daily and seek the peace of God. If there's confusion in your life, pray for The Lord to reveal to you where the confusion is coming from. We all know that the world, our flesh, and Satan will not produce peace in our lives. We need The Lord ladies. Seek Him and rest in the peace that He has promised you! "

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." Colossians 3:15

Be of Good Courage

Joshua 1:7-9 "Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. "This Book of the Law shall not depart from you mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to what is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Wow! What an encouragement and exhortation from the Lord! We have the whole counsel of God; everything that we need for life and godliness. We must meditate on the word and have it hidden in our heart. Our lives will prosper and flourish from being with the Lord and walking in His commandments. We will be a reflection of Him, if we don't stray from the word He has given to us. He, throughout scripture, promises us victory. Through our obedience to Him and His word, He promises us good success.

Ask the Lord today to bring to remembrance the things He has taught you. Be of good courage; He's with you wherever you go!

What are we seeking?

But you, o man ( woman) of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. 1 Timothy 6:11.

We, as Christian women, should be fleeing harmful lusts. If we're not careful we'll stray from the faith. The Lord gives us the strength to walk in what He's called us to. He has a different plan for us than the plan that the world is following. People see our lives daily. What are they seeing us pursue? There's so much out there for us to be tempted into following. It's a must that we're walking closely with The Lord. He has set us apart ladies! Let's be different than the world by following Him.

Romans 12:9 says, "Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good."

He is good. His word is good. He is calling us to walk in repentance today!

Joy

But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You. Psalm 5:11

Joy comes from:

Loving God

Psalm 5:11 let those also who love Your name be joyful in You.

Being in His presence
Psalm 16:11 You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy

His faithfulness
Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of Salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness..

His Word
Jeremiah 15:16 Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.

Being refreshed in the Lord
Act 8:5-6, 8 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. And there was great joy in that city.

Stony Hearts

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them."  Ezekiel 36:26-27

Our heart can be hardened by so many things. The weight of this world, our sinful flesh, and the enemy are coming at us constantly. Many times our heart is hard in areas that we don't even realize. Pray and ask God to show you those areas, then ask Him to soften your heart. He will take our stony hearts and turn them to hearts of flesh! This will enable us to keep His word and walk in His ways. Ladies, we need the strength of The Lord to walk faithfully in this world. He will refresh us and help us to be doers of His word, but we have to cry out to Him and give Him our stony hearts. Remember, He is faithful even when we are not. Give The Lord you heart and allow Him to transform you! Walk in His grace and forgiveness each day pressing on to what lies ahead!

Fragrance

For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.
2 Corinthians 2:15

How we live our lives as Christian women impact all those around us. Each of us has a different group of people we can reach for the Lord. Each person we come in contact with is counting on us as believers to be in right relationship with God. What we put into our lives is what eventually comes out. We can sow to the flesh and reap corruption or sow to the Spirit and reap everlasting life.
When we look at our lives and how we are walking with Jesus daily, does it reflect Jesus to those around us? Are we giving off the fragrance of Jesus to those among us to be saved?

Thoughts of God

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD...
Jeremiah 29:11-14a

When we know the thoughts our God thinks about us, which are peace and not evil, our hearts respond in a totally different way. When we know and understand the love God has for us, we won't approach Him in a way that is full of guilt and condemnation. His thoughts toward us are Peace (freedom from disturbance or agitation). The next three verses shows us what our hearts will do and how God responds to us when we know what God is like.

Our hearts                                                         God

1. We will call on God                           1. God will listen

2.  We will pray to God                         2. God will listen

3. We will seek God and find Him          3. God promises us we will find Him

Jesus loves you so much and desires all of your heart not just part of it. Give yourself away to Him today!!!!

Memories of God's Hand in your life!

Joshua 4:21-24 Then he spoke to the children of Israel, saying: "When your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, 'What are these stones?' then you shall let your children know, saying, 'Israel crossed over this Jordan on dry land'; "for the LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed over, "that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty, that you may fear the LORD your God forever."

The children of Israel got to see the Lord do many miracles as they walked with Him. His hand was upon them through the parting of the Red Sea, when they were crossing over into the promise land through the Jordan on dry ground. As you look back on your life recently and in the past you can see the hand of God all over your life.

1. Take time today to remember how the Lord has touched your life.

2. Tell people how He has touched your life. Just like the children of Israel were to tell their children what the stones signified.

Be Equipped by God's Word

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man ( woman) of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17

The word of God is our instruction. When a child can't figure out how a new toy works, what do we ask them?..." Did you read the instructions?" Only to find the instructions tossed to the side while they try to figure it out themselves! This situation ends in frustration. How do we approach the circumstances and struggles of our lives? We can't toss our instruction manual (Bible) to the side, do things our own way, and expect our lives to prosper. We need to take in the word daily, and walk in the instructions of our Lord. Be encouraged and equipped by the word of God today!

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I have sworn and confirmed that I will keep Your righteous judgments. I am afflicted very much; Revive me, O Lord, according to Word. Psalm 119:105-107

The out pouring of the Holy Spirit Promised

All over in scripture God promises us the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Surely I will pour out my Spirit on you; I will make My words known to you. Proverbs 1:23

And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I shall have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel, says the Lord God. Ezekiel 39:29

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Matthew 3:11

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!
Luke 11:13

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever. John 14:6

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you: and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Acts 1:8

The Christian life is difficult to live with out the empowering of the Holy Spirit. Is life bland for you? Is your attitude about the things of God mediocre? Is everything a struggle and seems like you can't do it on your own? Well, we can do nothing apart from Jesus and His Spirit. You need the out pouring of the Holy Spirit in your life.

Do you desire the out pouring of the Holy Spirit in your life? Ask and it shall be given you, seek and you shall find, knock and it will be opened to you.
Luke 11:9

Be Watered

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:2-3

The Word of God is so important in our lives as women. We need to be encouraged in the word daily to walk in the things Jesus is asking us to walk through. There are so many things that press into our lives that can distract us and take us away from what Jesus has for us.
When we are in His word daily we are promised to be like a tree that is planted by the rivers of water. Those trees planted by the rivers are healthy, strong trees that are watered constantly. They take in all the nutrients they need well because they are watered all the time. The Word of God is our nutrients we need daily to be able to grow and be strengthened. We will produce much fruit in our lives as we are washed in the water of the Word!! We will also not wither when the trials come into our lives because we are grounded in His truth!!! We will also prosper in the things the Lord is calling us to walk through because we are seeking Him to find what he desires in our lives.

Be encouraged as you meditate on His Word day and night!!!

Through the Bible in a year

Hey ladies,

Praying for you, that you are in God's Word and encouraged by Him today.

We are on day 287 of reading through the Bible.

Exciting to read about the sower of the seed. If you remember from the retreat in May, the question was asked where our hearts are at with the Word.
This is a good time to go back and reflect on how our hearts have been in receiving the Word.

1. Are you in the Word to receive it?

2. Do you allow it to go deep into your heart and live it out? We know what Jesus said today in our reading about doing and hearing the Word of God.

Be blessed as you spend time with Your Lord and Savior!!!

Through the Bible in a year

Hi ladies,

We are on day 281 of reading through the Bible together.

Today in our reading, Jesus is at the pools of Bethesda. An amazing miracle happens there. A paralytic is healed. Jesus simply asks him "do you want to be made well?"

That is a great question for all of us. What things have you been hanging onto that need healing from your Savior? Do you want to be made well? Ask and it shall be given to you!!!

Jesus says "Rise up and Walk"!!!!

Through the Bible in a year New Testament

Hi ladies,

Here is an update on where we are at in reading through the Bible. On June 19th we will be starting the New Testament. If you are behind and want to start fresh this would be a great time to jump ahead and start reading with us if you would like. It is ok if you did not finish the Old Testament. I am planning on doing this again starting in October.

Also want to encourage you, if you are looking at reading through the Bible in a year as just another thing to read, use it as your quiet time. Especially if you are struggling on where to spend you time in the Bible.

Draw near to Jesus today by being in His Word!!!

Pour out your heart before the Lord

It is so glorious to be in the presence of the Lord!!!

In the book of Ezra, the people came back to Jerusalem from Babylonian captivity. The people were so excited when just the foundation of the temple was being built. They wanted to be in the presence of the Lord. The Bible says they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord!! They shouted with a great shout because the foundation was laid. Ezra 3:11. The temple was the place where the people could meet with the Lord and be in His presence!!!

How much more for us as believers to be excited to be in the presence of the Lord pouring out our hearts before Him as we meet with Him in prayer and the Word!! Come before the throne of grace boldly!!! (Hebrews 4)

Ladies,
Please be in your word today. Please seek His face. Please find joy in Him today by being in His presence.

In Psalm 16:11, the Bible says, You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures evermore.

If we don't meet with Him how can we find the path He wants us on?
If we are lacking joy, could it be that we are not in His presence?
Are we seeking pleasures of our own? Look for pleasures by spending time with our Lord and Savior.

Through the Bible in a Year

Hey ladies,
We are on day 108 in reading through the Bible in a year!!!
It is awesome to see how David's life in 1 Samuel and the Psalms being written are correlating together. Wow! my eyes have been open to the Word of God more and more.
I want to encourage you to keep reading your Bibles daily.
If you are behind this would be the time to skip ahead. Just start today on day 108. It is all the Psalms. You can always read the Bible again, remember that. This should not just be a one time through the Bible thing. It is so important to read the Bible through each year. It took me 13 years to figure that out. I would just read here and there in the Bible. Now I can put things together and it is because of reading it through.
Be with your Jesus. Worship Him and read His Word.
Love you ladies
