Read verse 1. There is an action in this verse. What is it? Write down a time recently where you put your trust in God. What happened and what did you learn from putting your trust in Him?

Read verse 3. There is so much comfort in this verse. God is truly your strong refuge that you can go to Him continually. Thank Him for all He is doing!! Write down your prayer.

David had many enemies during his life. He always had someone after him trying to take his life. He was on the run for 10 years from King Saul. Then his own son Absalom was trying to take over the kingdom and tried to kill him and his household. In this Psalm, David describes the wicked.
Look at the verbs in verses 1-5 and write them down and see the characteristics of the wicked.

Psalm 56

The Psalmist declares in verse 3 that he is afraid. There are 3 times he says “I will” What are they?

 A lot of times it is a heart attitude that we need to have when we come up against fear. This is hard because our emotions get in the way and want to direct all that is going on so we can be as comfortable as possible. These 3 words are so important for us as believers to put into practice as we walk with God.
Look at verse 8. God sees all that you go through. He even collects your tears in a bottle. This is so amazing!! Write your thoughts on this verse.

Read Psalm 55.

What is the definition of supplication?                     

Take time before the Lord and pray for the day. Write down your prayer.

Read Verses 4-6. Do you ever want to run away from your situation?    David sure did. He had people coming at him on all sides of his life. A King who hated him and chased him all over the Israel .  A companion who turned against him.  Write down a situation you are running from or have run from in the past. Instead of running away from God, run to Him with the situation.

What did David do in verse 16?

What are David’s expectations of God? Verse 16b                        

Read verse 17. What did David know about God?

God hears your prayers. Read the faithfulness of God below in these verses.
